Feel free to comment with your own tips/tricks too. I will update this post/tread as I discover more. It seems to just flicker and look busy, but rest-assured the drawings are being processed. As far as I know the activation code is still OK but most of the drawing was. After I upgraded to V1R1.3 I found it to be quite buggy, so uninstalled and went back to V1R1.2. you'll need at least 1 drawing open before you can do step 2 above.ĭraftSight is a bit strange when executing the batch script, as it doesn't show the drawings being worked on (as AutoCAD does). I have been using Draftsight for some months now and was doing a drawing for an operating manual when I ran into a printing problem which has me stumped. To get around this, one must use the "Create Batch Script" button, and NOT use the "Create and RUN Batch Script" button. Rather than switching SDI on and off, like we typically do when running a script, we just need to ensure that the last drawing is closed after the script is executed on it.Ī) Go to the SETTINGS tab, and delete SDI 1 from the "Prebatch Command" field, and delete SDI 0 fro the "PostBatch Command".ī) Add "CLOSE" to the "PostUserScript Command" (this will close the current drawing, after the script, but before the next drawing is opened)Ģ) Draftsight can't seem to handle a script that is thrown at it with the /b switch (although AutoCAD can). It seems to be in multi-document mode permanently. Just a couple of things need to be changed in your setup, and procedural things to keep in mind.ġ) Setup - DraftSight doesn't have SDI compatibility. It has been asked before whether Hurricane can generate scripts that run on Draftsight, and achieve some level of Automation, and at the time (years ago), I didn't think it could.Īfter some time, and some playing around, I've got Hurricane working (using the current version, no update required). These are (1) what part of the drawing to print, and (2) what scale to use. The scaling problems you're having are the result of two things not being specified, or being specified differently from what you want. If you haven't seen it, the section on printing (attached below) may help you. Shutting off ESNAP altogether is a pain, and disabling end and midpoint is about the same thing for what i'm doing. The Hurricane Forum - Dassault DRAFTSIGHT Compatibility - HOW TOĭassault DRAFTSIGHT Compatibility - HOW TOĪs you may know, Draftsight by Dassaut systems (the same people that make SolidWorks) have made an AutoCAD compatible clone, that is actually quite good. Ken, the Draftsight help files are pretty good. My question is, is there a way to disable ESNAP on a reference picture? Because what is happening is the picture is being recognized as a square, and any time i try to create a line inside, it attempts to snap to the midpoint or end of the lines. GRID is off, and the only way for me to actually draw is to disable ESNAP regularly when i'm not coming to the end point. This will turn the parallel ESnap on and all others off while you specify the next point. In the above case, you could right click in the drawing area ⇢ ESnap Overrides ⇢ Parallel. This is particularly helpful if ESnaps are conflicting with each other. For example, the nearest ESnap conflicts with the parallel ESnap, making it impossible to detect a parallel snap.ĮSnaps can also be individually temporarily enabled by right clicking in the drawing area ⇢ ESnap Overrides ⇢ select the desired ESnap. Enabling many ESnaps at once is not always helpful.
